Help to name the official mascot!

10. June 2021

Let’s find a name for the star together!

In just a month, Kadriorg Stadium will host the European Athletics U23 Championships, followed by the European Athletics U20 Championships exactly a week later. Every major sporting competition (which these two certainly are for European athletics) has its own face, or a great mascot, who upholds the mood of both athletes and spectators. The mascot of the U20 and U23 competition is a star whose siblings have stood out as representatives of Estonian youth sports for many years.

Now it’s time to find the name for this year’s star, and we ask all of you for help to find it!

To participate in the mascot naming competition, write your idea in the comments of the social media post or send it to: media@ekjl.ee. On June 21, we will select three proposed names that will enter the final round of the naming competition, where the winner will be determined by the decathlete and Tallinn 2015 U23 bronze medal winner Janek Õiglane in person.

The bidders of the three names reaching the finals will receive the real mascot as a gift, and the winner (if local) will be invited to an event where we will introduce the official U20 and U23 medals!

By the way, Estonian young athletes participating in the European Championships have already made their bids to the name competition – if you prefer one of the candidates proposed by the athletes, give it the name Tony, Tähti or Kadri.

On your mark, get set, go – let the contest begin!
